MWHS recently launched a new e-bike program at Lamar Station Crossing in partnership with Boomerang Flats and the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC). Ten electric bikes were installed on site for free and exclusive access to residents. Lamar Station Crossing was an ideal location to pilot this program at MWHS. From the beginning, the community was designed with public transportation in mind, grounded in the belief that mobility, independence, and access are essential to helping residents connect with the surrounding community. This e-bike program is the latest effort to build on that mission.
This new addition to our community was made possible through the RAQC’s ‘Accessible Bikes for Community (ABC)’ Program, whose goal it is to reduce vehicle emissions while improving the quality of life in the Denver Metro/ North Front Range region.
The bikes officially went live following a launch event on November 12, where we welcomed Boomerang Flats and representatives from RAQC. Together, they helped introduce the program to residents and assist with sign-ups.
Over the past two months, residents have begun using these bikes for both leisure and everyday errands. We look forward to the warmer months ahead, when the e-bikes will become an even more valuable resource for the Lamar Station Crossing community.
